Updates 9/26/13

Wonderful Room 12 Parents,

PVUSD Google Docs all students in our district now how an account to be able to access google docs. They can use their user name and passwords.  We did this in the lab today. This means students can begin to type or work on projects at school and finish them from any computer that can access the internet.  Exciting!!! I have linked this to my blog (but it is also linked on district website under tech links).
Publishing Party on Friday October 4th 1:45- 2:20 (come and celebrate our wonderful writers of room 12).  Lite refreshments will be provided.

Social Studies State Brochure Project:  This has been an mostly in class project.  We have had over  3 days to research and 3 days to work on it in class and we will have Monday of next week to work in class.  After that, students will need to finish at home.  This is due on Wednesday October 2nd (students that do not complete theirs will be asked to do theirs during their recess and lunches until it is complete).  This is their responsibility, but it might be good to ask them how they are progressing.  (3 students have finished so far).

Donation Requests:  White board markers (thin and regular), any small prizes for rewards in our class dojo point scores (ask your child for ideas of things they might want)

Many thanks,
Mrs. Sara

Math

Math Reminder:
Today in class we practiced with a recipe:
2 1/2 c. flour  1/2 c. brown sugar   1 1/2 c. sugar

we imagined if we only had a 1/6 measuring cup, how many 1/6 cups we would need for flour and sugars?    flour= 15/6    brown sugar= 3/6 and  sugar= 9/6

for homework:
imagine you only have a 1/4 measuring cup, how many 1/4 cups would we need for flour and sugars?
