Dear Room 12 Families,

Welcome back and Happy 2013.  I hope that you all had a great break with your families.  We are ready to get into school full swing with a lot going on and coming up.  We will be starting our fiction writing unit, working on our inventions, beginning our colonial unit and  getting ready for our life lab and symphony field trips.

Important Info:

Invention Convention Update

* Intent to Invent form and get teacher approval - extended from Jan. 16^th to Friday, Jan.18^th

Inventor’s Journal showing your brainstorming lists, plans and  Invention Display due (should fit on a student desk)  Invention Convention Summary Form due Feb. 12^th)

Life Lab Field Trip –Friday, January 25

*Many students have not returned permission slip and $5

*Please wear clothes to keep warm and comfortable shoes (this will be an outdoor trip)

*Please bring a lunch from home

Drivers:  We will be meeting in Room 12 at ~9:00, we will leave promptly at 9:20

More detailed info will be given out next week.

Colonial Days~ February 15^th  1:15-2:15

(more information to come… but in short this will be a “fair” style showcase of colonial learning students will get more information on this next week)

Symphony Fieldtrip  Monday February 25 ~10-12:30 

(I will be needing drivers… but the down side is only 2 of them can go inside to watch, the others can hang out in downtown Santa Cruz permission slips will go home next week)
